Troublesome trio wreaks havoc on school campus

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying three young men who caused extensive damage, and stole a computer, from a Lee County elementary school earlier this month.

Just a few days before the start of the new school year, three unknown black males were seen on video walking around Franklin Park Elementary School, located at 2323 Ford Street, between 3:15 and 3:29 a.m. on August 1.  The suspects initially approached the Head Start portable by prying the door open.  Once inside, they removed a Dell laptop computer, valued at $630.  In addition to the damage to the door and door frame, the young men also removed a fire extinguisher and activated it in the classroom, resulting in damage to three desktop computers.  The trio then moved on and kicked in three additional classroom doors, breaking off handles and door frames.  In total, school officials estimate $1,800 in damage to the classrooms.

Anyone with information on the identities and whereabouts of the three suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.

Note:  A surveillance video clip of the suspects is attached to this release.
