Criminal combo takes off with stolen lottery tickets
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying two unknown suspects who used distractive methods to steal lottery tickets from a South Fort Myers convenience store late last night.
Around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, two black males entered the Circle K, located at 10800 Metro Parkway. One of the suspects, who was wearing a white shirt, went to the back of the store and broke a bottle of beer, prompting the cashier to leave the register so that she could clean up the broken glass. While she was doing so, the second male, wearing a black shirt, hopped over the counter and removed scratch off lottery tickets. When he realized the clerk was still cleaning up the mess, he utilized that time to take another stash of tickets. The men then left the store in a white four door SUV, headed in an unknown direction. The number and value of the scratch off tickets is undetermined at this time. Detectives believe the two suspects may also be linked to other recent thefts at Circle K locations in Fort Myers.
Anyone with information on the identities and whereabouts of the suspects are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.
Note: Surveillance photos of both suspects are attached to this release. There is no video available at this time.
