Loaded gun, credit cards stolen during car burglary

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying and tracking down a suspect believed to be responsible for a car burglary in which a loaded gun and credit cards were stolen.

The break-in occurred during the late night hours of Friday, May 19 or early morning on Saturday, May 20.  Home surveillance cameras showed an unknown white male approach the Bryant Road home and attempt to gain entry to one of the cars in the driveway.  When the suspect realized the door was locked, he moved along to the other car in the driveway and found it to be unlocked.  Once inside, he removed a loaded Ruger 357, as well as six cartridges left in the console, cash and multiple credit and gift cards.  In the hours that followed, the stolen credit cards were used at businesses throughout the county for several hundred dollars in fraudulent purchases.  Several purchases were declined.

The suspect is described as a younger white male, with short dark hair and a black watch on his left arm.  Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect and his current whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.

Note:  Several photographs of the suspect are attached to this release.  There is no video available at this time.
