Reward increased in homicide of Clewiston teen

Just days after a Clewiston teen was found murdered, an anonymous donor has stepped up to increase the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Jeremy Penton’s killer.

Penton, who was only 17 years old, was found in the area of the Twin Lakes Subdivision in Clewiston early Sunday morning, August 6th.  His death was quickly determined to be a homicide, and now the search is on for the person responsible for his death.  To encourage people in the know to come forward, an anonymous donor is offering $10,000 for information that leads to both the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects.

Anyone with information on the murder of Jeremy Penton is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers and an additional $10,000 from the anonymous donor.  Tips may also be made online at or by submitting a tip through the P3Tips mobile app. Note:  A photo of Jeremy is attached to this release.
