School golf cart swiped during ball game

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help tracking down a thief who stole a golf cart during a basketball game at Riverdale High School Monday night.

A school security guard last saw the cart when it was parked outside the gym around 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5th during a ball game.  When he left the building around 8 p.m., he discovered the cart missing.

The golf cart, valued at $7,000, is a burgundy EZ-Go model, with a metal dump bed and multiple Riverdale High School stickers on the front and back.  The phrase “Success is a choice” is written on the front of the cart.  Several students were seen in the area when the golf cart was parked, however no witnesses to the theft have come forward yet.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at or by submitting a tip on the mobile P3Tips app.
