Suspect smashes through wall to burglarize Buckingham business
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying an unknown suspect who broke into a Buckingham business earlier this week, taking off with cash and tobacco.
Employees at the Kuntry Express, located at 4951 Buckingham Road, closed the store just after 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 11. When owners arrived to open the store around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, June 12, they discovered that the cash register was left open and multiple tobacco products had been taken. After walking into the store’s office, they noticed that a sink had been destroyed and the ice maker was pushed out of place. A hole had been cut into the wall, which is how the suspect managed to gain entry to the store. Upon reviewing the store’s surveillance video, an unknown male, wearing a large white mask that covered his entire face and white gloves, could be seen entering the store’s beer cooler at 2:44 a.m. After removing an item, he continued to move around the business, stealing numerous products and cash, before leaving through the hole in the wall.
Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.
Note: A surveillance clip of the suspect inside the store is attached to this release.
