Suspects claw their way to stolen cash
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a duo who dined then dashed with cash stolen from a lobster claw machine at a North Fort Myers establishment last weekend.
According to employees at RJ’s Bar and Grill, located at 1475 N. Tamiami Trail, the unknown couple entered the business around 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21 and ordered drinks and food. When they were done, the female walked over to the lobster claw machine and took a photograph. Moments later, her male counterpart took a seat in front of the machine. Surveillance video captured images of the man prying the machine’s door open and taking approximately $400 from the cash container. The couple then left the empty metal box on a chair and left the business.
Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspects are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.
Note: Three photos of the two suspects are attached to this release. There is no video available at this time.
