Suspects sought in two early morning robberies
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying two men wanted in connection with two convenience store robberies early this morning.
The first incident occurred just after 1:15 a.m. at the RaceTrac, located at 16900 N. Cleveland Avenue in North Fort Myers. Two men, brandishing firearms, entered the store and manhandled one of the clerks to the cash register and ordered her to give them all the cash in the registers. In fear for her life, the clerk complied. After receiving the cash, the suspects then took lottery tickets before fleeing the area.
Just over one hour later, at 2:37 a.m., a black male walked into the 7-Eleven, located at 530 Joel Boulevard in Lehigh Acres, and pointed a gun at the clerk, demanding all the cash in the register. The suspect placed a backpack on the counter and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk watched the suspect leave and get into a white two door vehicle waiting nearby, which was being driven by another black male. Both robberies are believed to be related.
The suspects are described as approximately 6’0”, with gold teeth. They were dressed in all black clothing and masks, and one of the suspects wore black and red gloves. Both suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on the identities and whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
