Tampa thieves making their way to Southwest Florida
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying one of two men believed to be responsible for at least 20 residential burglaries, and the theft of more than $500,000 in jewelry and other items.
Since March, the Tampa Police Department has investigated nearly two dozen home burglaries where jewelry has been the primary target. Recently, some of the credit cards stolen from the Tampa homes have been used, or attempted to be used, in Collier County. The suspects are an unknown Hispanic male and an unidentified white male. Surveillance cameras from one of the homes targeted captured a clear image of one of the suspects. The men were last seen driving a black, newer model Jeep Renegade.
Anyone with information on the identities of the suspects, and where they may be travelling to, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.
Note: A surveillance video of one of the suspects is attached to this release.
