Well versed thieves cart off thousands worth of razors

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who carted off more than $4,000 in razors from an Estero store last month, and are believed to have committed similar crimes throughout our region.

Just after 6:30 a.m. on June 27th, a black male and a white female entered the Wal Mart, located at 19975 S. Tamiami Trail.  The male immediately grabbed a shopping cart and placed a clothes hamper inside it.  He proceeded to the razor blade aisle, where he could be seen on video unloading box after box of razor blade cartridges.  While he was filling up the hamper, the unidentified female stood watch to ensure that no employees were in the area.  After the cart was full, the male suspect passed the cart off to the female, and he left the store.  Minutes later, he parked a silver Chrysler minivan next to the front entrance of the store, and came back inside.  While he distracted the store’s greeter, the female suspect left the store with $4,211 in razor blade cartridges – never paying for a single item.  The man quickly joined his partner in crime and fled the area in an unknown direction.

Detectives believe these same two suspects may also be responsible for a series of similar crimes throughout Southwest Florida, and perhaps throughout the state.  The male is described as being in his 50s, with balding black hair, and the female is in her 40s, with long dark hair.  Anyone with information on the identities and whereabouts of these suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.
