The shooting deaths of Kevin Robinson, 56, and Javarcia Riggins, 22, came during a celebratory family dinner at TGI Friday’s in the Bell Tower Shops on the evening of October 9, 2018. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. when deputies were called to reports of an active shooter in the parking lot. Robinson and Riggins walked outside the restaurant, where they were shot and killed. Two others were injured. The investigation continues.

On November 12, 2011, the Lee County Sheriff's Office was called in reference to two individuals on the ground near 705 Pondella Road in North Fort Myers. Both men were declared deceased and detectives were notified. Through the course of the investigation, one of the men was identified as Aner Miralda, a Hispanic male with a date of birth of January 17, 1985. The second individual was identified as Dagoberto Ramos, a Hispanic male with a date of birth of April 28, 1985. The two were friends and their death was ruled a homicide. The investigation continues.

On February 11, 1981, the Lee County Sheriff's Office was notified of a missing person at the Edison Mall. Deputies responded to the call and searched the area. The missing person was Mary Hare, a white female with a date of birth of October 21, 1962.
On May 30, 1981, Mary was located, deceased, in the area of 46th Street Southwest and Elva Avenue in Lehigh Acres. Detectives arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. The death was determined to be a homicide and her disappearance from the area of the Edison Mall was considered suspicious. The investigation continues.

On September 14, 2011, the Lee County Sheriff's Office was called in reference to a deceased person in the area of Anaconda Avenue South and Meadow Road in Lehigh Acres. Deputies arrived on scene and confirmed that the subject was deceased. The decedent was later identified as Broderick Ford, a black male with a date of birth of May 25, 1993. The death was later determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.
Broderick Ford would have turned 27 years old yesterday.

On November 29, 1988, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home of Robert Hecht (56) on Rio Togas Drive off Burnt Store Road in Punta Gorda to check on his well being. Hecht was last seen alive on November 26, 1988 at the Village Oyster Bar in Fisherman's Village. Deputies discovered Hecht in the residence, dead from head injuries caused by being struck multiple times with a blunt instrument. Hecht’s 1988 tan and brown Lincoln Town car was missing and later discovered in Lenoir, North Carolina. The investigation continues.

It's been exactly six years since a 20-year-old Ivan Simmons was shot to death outside a home in Lehigh Acres. As of today, no one has been held accountable for this brutal crime.
On May 16, 2014, around 11:00 p.m., Lee County deputies responded to the 200 block of Ichabod Avenue S in Lehigh Acres in reference to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located several subjects with apparent gunshot wounds. One male subject was deceased on scene. The male was identified as Ivan Devon Simmons, a black male with a date of birth of November 22, 1993. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation. The death was determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.

#TheSearchContinues for both suspects responsible for store owner's death
On Friday afternoon, July 13, 2007, two black males walked in the Fiesta Supermarket on Lake Trafford Road in Immokalee looking for work. Homer Hassam, owner of the Supermarket, was in the store remodeling, along with several of his employees. Hassam told the men to come back in a week or so. The men left the store and returned a short time later. Hassam and one of the suspects struggled, during the struggle Homer Hassam was shot and his wallet taken. Hassam stumbled outside, and one of his employees followed to try to help him. When the employee walked out of the store he was struck in the head by one of the suspects, with an unknown object.
Both suspects fled in a small two or four door gray car with tinted windows.
Homer Hassam was taken by med-flight to a hospital in Lee County where he died from his injuries. The other victim was transported to a Collier County hospital where he was treated and released.
