On March 4, 2007, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the Collier County Sheriff's Office responded to the 700 block of 2nd Avenue in Immokalee. A mobile home trailer was engulfed in flames. Ten people were sleeping inside the trailer at the time the fire started. Three victims were transported to Lee Memorial, three were transported to NCH, and four were located deceased in the trailer. Emiliano Lopez Figaroa, 27, died in a hospital from injuries he received in the fire.

 

There was a prior arson attempt on this residence approximately one week prior with no known suspects. Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, and the past arson attempts on the residence, this fire was ruled as arson.
