On October 9, 2006, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in the area of Douglas Lane and Gunnery Road in Lehigh Acres. When they arrived they discovered a male deceased on the side of the road. Detectives arrived and conducted an investigation. The decedent was identified as John Richard Davis, a white male with a date of birth of October 12, 1964. The death was determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.

On May 23, 2010, the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a shooting on the 2500 block of Henderson Avenue at 2:01 a.m. and found Joshua Lamont Jones, 27, suffering from a gunshot wound. Witnesses say someone fired shots into the home and then fled in a vehicle. Jones was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital where he later died. The death was determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.

On January 12, 2009, at approximately 9:18 p.m., the Fort Myers Police Department responded to the 3000 block of Royal Palm Avenue in Fort Myers in reference to shots fired. The victim, later identified as Kelly Kevin Grant, and others were inside the residence when a silver Lincoln sedan pulled in the driveway and two black male adults exited the vehicle and began firing into the residence. The suspects then fled on foot leaving the stolen vehicle behind. Detectives arrived and assumed the investigation. The investigation continues.
